HOW IT GOT STARTED

I learned to sew as a boy because my parents thought it was important that a person should know how to do certain things as an adult. So I learned to cook, to clean (with various levels of success) change a tire, replace the brakes on my car, preserve food, cook for others, basic woodworking and other skills. 

I started quilting in 2006 with my Mom, then herself a new quilter, as my teacher. This is my very first quilt. There've been a lot of stitches and lessons learned since then, and still more to go!
